Sciatica: Why It’s Not Just a Low Back & Hip Problem

Do you suffer from sciatica? If so, you’re not alone. Sciatica is a common problem that can cause a lot of pain and discomfort.

Many people assume that sciatica is just a problem with the low back and hips, but there is more to it than that.

Why It’s Important

The symptoms are actually the result of a deeper routed problem in the body. In this blog post, we will explore the cause of sciatica and discuss some solutions for dealing with it.

So, what is the cause of sciatica? The root cause is usually a misalignment at the carniocervical junction. This is where the head and neck meet. When this area is out of alignment, it can place stress on the brain and brainstem.

While there are many causes of sciatica, if you are looking for a long-term solution, finding and correcting the cause should be the highest priority!

With the most common cause of sciatica being a misalignment in the spine, specifically at the base of the neck. This is often caused by poor posture, sitting for long periods of time, or an injury.

This can cause a chain reaction of events in the body leading to structural and neurological shifts. The spine may bend and twist, and the pelvis may tilt, all in an effort to try and maintain some normality.

However, these shifts can cause hip pain and sciatica.

How To Train The Grip

There are a number of solutions for dealing with sciatica. Depending on the cause of the problem, traditional chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy and, massage are just a few to mention.

These modalities will offer temporary relief but not a long-term solution, often leading to; frequent visits, extensive care plans and, long list of to-do’s.

When the top vertebra in the spine (the atlas) becomes misaligned, it puts pressure on the brainstem and compromises brain function. This can cause a variety of neurological symptoms, including pain down the legs (sciatica).

The good news is that this problem can be corrected with specific chiropractic adjustments. Once the alignment is restored, normal function can return and sciatica pain will resolve itself.

A better solution is to use a more holistic approach is to find the cause of the problem.

When this misalignment is corrected by an upper cervical specialist such as a NUCCA doctor, the best and ideal results can be achieved.

NUCCA is a gentle and precise adjustment that helps to realign the spine and take pressure off of the nerves.

As a result, patients often find long-term sciatica relief!
